I was born in Mauritius. It is an island in the Indian Ocean (on the East from Madagascar)Since I joined university, I have been amazed by how many people have no clue where and what Mauritius even is. I wouldn't be surprised if you don't know where it is as well.
Fun fact:
Do you know the Dodo? Yes, the big bird from the movie Madagascar and from Alice in Wonderland? Well, that bird is endemic to Mauritius and is our national bird.
I love telling people all about the island and our culture. Our mother tongue is Creole (a bit close to the Haitian Creole). If you would like to know about the language, i would love to include a word/phrase/expression along with a translated version and definition along with whatever package you choose for free.
